Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored?

All data is encrypted and stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device. If you clear your browser data, your Cache Flow data will be lost unless you have exported a backup.

What happens if I forget my password?

There is no password recovery. Your password derives the encryption key for your data. Without it, your data cannot be decrypted. Export backups regularly and store your password securely.

How do I back up my data?

Use the Export button (in the app menu) to download an encrypted JSON backup. You can restore it later with the Import button.

Can I use Cache Flow on multiple devices?

Yes. Export your data from one device and import it on another. There is no automatic sync since all data stays local.

Can I import data from Cache?

Yes. Cache Flow supports importing a Cache JSON backup to pull in your balances and recurring entries.
